Local business owner Jennifer Brigham of Brigham Group Staffing recently addressed the eEmpact User Group in Minneapolis, MN. eEmpact is a national staffing software company, and annually it brings together users of its software from across the United States.
Brigham, together with Caroline Melberg of Melberg Marketing, spoke on "What's All the Buzz About Blogs and Social Networking for Recruiting."
"Online networking and recruiting is a fast-growing, fast-changing, new way of doing business. Brigham Group Staffing has jumped on board, and is utilizing a variety of new internet-based sources for recruiting and communication with our applicant database," said Brigham. "Our software company knew that we were pioneering various recruiting techniques utilizing social networking and business networking sites, so asked us to come and lead a panel discussion on new developments."
Brigham explains, "We utilize blogs, social networking such as Facebook, and business networking such as LinkedIn as part of our recruiting plan, reaching people locally as well as worldwide for the variety of jobs that we help our clients recruit for. People are 'plugged in' to technology, and reaching them where they are spending time—online—is opening up great new possibilities for us, and our clients."
Also serving on the panel was Caroline Melberg of Melberg Marketing. Melberg specializes in online marketing, search engine optimization and web development. "It was interesting to partner with Brigham Group Staffing on this panel—they have taken what we do for marketing, and applied it to the recruiting world. While different, the two are very related in terms of methodology and technology used."
