As a tribute to the continued success and
resiliency in bouncing back after the staffing industry was so
hard hit following September 11, 2001, Jennifer was recently awarded the
NAWBO-Minnesota’s “Emerging Woman Business Owner of the Year” award
for 2007. Brigham Group Staffing is not only surviving where many
staffing firms didn’t make it through the last financial recession,
it is thriving.
In 1981, when Jennifer quit college at age 22
and started a secretarial services business with a rented
typewriter, a single phone line and a small newspaper ad. And
Brigham Group Staffing was born. Twenty-five years later, the
staffing organization has grown to a multi-million dollar company
with three offices placing thousands of employees in temporary and
permanent positions at businesses throughout Minnesota and
Wisconsin. What’s more, for the past four years, the Twin Cities
Business Journal has placed Brigham Group Staffing among the
region’s Top 25 Temporary Help Firms.
Jennifer’s innate understanding of the
entrepreneurial spirit has paid off. Most of her clients are
entrepreneurs and they greatly appreciate how Jennifer responds to
their unique challenges. While many staffing agencies make profits
by keeping staff temporary, Jennifer focuses on creating powerful
matches between employees and employers that lead to permanent
relationships.
Jennifer freely shares her experience and
knowledge with other business owners and mentors those who are
just starting out. She actively supports women business owners in
the community through her involvement in the Chambers of Commerce in
St. Paul, Red Wing, and Apple Valley, MN and Hudson and Baldwin,
WI. She is also active in NAWBO (National Association of Women
Business Owners—Minnesota Chapter), WPO (Women Presidents’
Organization), and ASA (American Staffing Association).
